As an environmental nonprofit, the Green Project is committed to sustainability in all forms. This extends to Salvations Gala + Auction. We’re proud to source only New Orleans-based vendors, compost all organic materials, recycle all cardboards, glass and plastics, limit waste to less than a trash bag, and offset emissions created by the gala through tree planting. In the future, our goal to to be 100% zero waste.
Serving New Orleans since 1994, the Green Project's mission is to promote a culture of creative reuse by diverting usable materials from landfills and cultivating a respect for their value. Their mission is executed through a Salvage Store, Paint Recycling Program, Environmental Education, In-Kind Community Grants and community workshops.
